Overall a very good course that covers a lot of musical ground in a short period of time. A very complete discussion for the beginning song writer that touches all the bases that they should really know to go forward.

This was the perfect course for me. I knew a decent amount of theory before this course, but now I'm rest assured that I know everything needed to write quality music. Jake is a master song writer and teacher. He narrowed down everything a modern composer should know to be successful. I highly recommend. Wish I had this course when I first started!!

Jake does a great job of teaching music theory from the point of view of a guitarist. He provides many examples from popular music, to traditional, to metal. Not just "the Beatles did this...." Jake is amicable and accessible in his teaching style yet thorough in the theory. Highly recommended.
