This was the perfect course for me. I knew a decent amount of theory before this course, but now I'm rest assured that I know everything needed to write quality music. Jake is a master song writer and teacher. He narrowed down everything a modern composer should know to be successful. I highly recommend. Wish I had this course when I first started!!

Jake does a great job of teaching music theory from the point of view of a guitarist. He provides many examples from popular music, to traditional, to metal. Not just "the Beatles did this...." Jake is amicable and accessible in his teaching style yet thorough in the theory. Highly recommended.

Jake does a great job in teaching the material which spans a lot of concepts. I appreciate how he ties topics to modern day examples. I also enjoyed his enthusiasm throughout the entire course. Also notable was how he tied computers into the course, which we should have in our tool kit.
